How do I "unmount?" a file system, like the cdrom?
I was actually able to copy a whole CD, put it in a shell user's home dir, in it's own dir, change the permissions and all that (that's a huge step for me, I am new to *nix).
Something hit me, don't I have to "umount" the cdrom? and how do I do it?
OS RedHat 7.3 text only server....yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment.
The reason why I had to do this is because he scratched the heck out of his CD--through the aluminum wafer!!!Well, he is like 40 minutes from here, and I don't have a burner, so he's just going to DL it tonight before he crashes out for the night (both of us have the OEM CD's already, so no laws are being broken). But don't I have to dismount the cdrom? Hope I was of some help...

Thanks for the help...
