I want to teach in a community college. I am more than qualified to teach many subjects. This particular college wants certifications also. That does not mean that I will teach the certification area. Any certification would have done. I choose the path of least resistance.
A large part of the material presented in both A+ and Network+ are already known to me because of my background. I know most computer platforms as either a programmer or an expert user:
mainframe (programmer)
PC (programmer/user)
Unix(user/shell scripter/assembler programmer)
Mac (user).
I am adept at both binary and hex math. I could go on, but won't.
It is not possible to pass any of the CompTIA tests the first time (in my opinion) by only studying test questions. You must know and understand both the concepts and the facts.
