Oh how oh how can I format a linux formated disk to DOS??? 1

Oh how how how is it done????

I have to take a disk that has been used for linux and format it for DOS/Windows. FDisk will not work....
 
Hi,

One way would be to attach that disk to a working linux system and use the linux fdisk to delete the partitions. You could probably just stick it in an otherwise empty box and use the toms root / boot disk from floppy to boot into a linux prompt that would then allow you to use linux fdisk. See -->
Otherwise, you would need to use a utility like partition magic ( or partition commander ( . In a worse-case scenario I guess you could go to the manufacturer's website and get a utility to do a low-level format but thats not normally a desirable thing to do.

I had the same problem once. Two words for you...
PARTITION MAGIC.

Now, I can't figure out how I ever got this far without it.
