I have a Customer who's building is going under construction. As a result he will have to move some of
his employees to a remote location. He wants to know if it is possable to set up thier phones on the same system as the remaining employees that are staying at his original building.

His system is a Mics v 5.01

this is only temp so the cheaper the better

Yes it is. check out
the Verso (formerly MCK) site shows extenders that let you take the output of the phone system dn port and route it to another location by any of the following: analog dial or dedicated lines. ISDN BRI/PRI or VOIP over Private network/VPN/or internet (internet is only recommended as part of a VPN)

Look at the product literature for each of the extenders as well as the pbxtender

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.

Jerry:

Is there a way to share an extension using the above technology(i.e. one for the office an one for the home), or is a separate dn fowarded the only alternative?

I could see using a two way switch to select "desk" or "Remote" as being fairly simple to set-up.

alternatively set up the two extensions identically on all buttons except set one button on each phone to be answer DN for the other set. then set the vm mailbox to turn on the message light of one phone and voice notify the other phone of messages.(not pretty, not simple,

IS there not a service that the telco offers that would allow him to have 3 digit dialing to the offsite location?

Would Centrex allow him to do this?

You could set up OPX circuits from your telco conected to ATA2's. Will give you 3 digit dialing, access to voice mail etc. Must use analog phones at the remote end though.
