Offline Synchronization Problem - Server over wrote local copy in ERRO

I sure hope someone can help me here, I had a user work until 3 am last night OFFLINE, (their mydocs are targeted back to user directory on server and are available offline - they synch up when loggin off their computer and loggin on their comptuer) Anyway - he plugged into the network this morning, and when it synched it must have said the local copy differs from the server copy - do you want to keep server, local or both - It sounds like he said server - so it overwrote ALL HIS WORK HE DID LAST NIGHT.
Is there anyway I can get this back? Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
