Offline programming of Partner Remote Access Card

Does the Partner Remote Access Card actually store the .xmg file used to edit switch settings? If so, can a new card be programmed offline (e.g., by plugging it into a laptop), so that it is ready in the event of a crash?
 
Yes. not sure what the file type is though.

That is why, when you dial in with the software, it does a backup first. The software doesnt "read" the systems programming, it reads from the backup. I am assuming that you are using the admin port on the processor, so yes, you could use the software, backup the programming and save it on a pc.

 
I don't think you can read the remote access card if you insert it in your laptop's PCMCIA slot. I know you need special drivers to be able to program the eFlash tools upgrade cards. So, I don't think you can program it directly, without a processor in between.
