Skip No. 5, the RJ-45 connectors. Instead use a Patch Panel, and Patch Cords to make the connections to the switch.

Dont just look at current requirements, you might want to look at what you might need in the future to allow to expansion. Its easier to add extra points now than might be later.

How are you wiring the cables? Along the floor, under the floor, above the ceiling or through some sort of dado(sp) rail around the wall.

How do you want to terminate the ends ? Just on RJ45 connecters or onto patch panels ?

What is the distance between floors, do you need 2 switches or is the distance short enough for 1 larger switch. If using 2 switches what type of connection between the 2 switches.

Also you might find it cheaper to use CAT5e unless you really need CAT6.

Also do you want your switch(es) to be managed or unmanged.

you might want to call some cabling contractors and get quotes to see if the saving's of doing it your self is justiifed.

Cableing contractors have specilized tools and experiance that might well make the few extra dollars worthwhile.

like faithless said cat5e might be more than adequate for you

and like tommy said if you do it yoursef, do it right terminate to a patch panel and use patch cords Don't
crimp rj45 plugs on the end of the solid cables.
