We have an Samsung OfficeServ 7200 with 2 x Digital and Analogue Cards and an OAS Card with 16 Channels for SIP Trunks and 12 x SIP Trunk Licenses
Our handsets are all digital DS5000 series

I would like to replace the Digital handsets with SMT-i5210. I bought a few and configured them but when I plug them in says "No License"

My understanding was the Samsung SMT-i5210 handsets did not require a license only 3rd party brand IP phones did.

Do I need a License for each Samsung SMT handset? if yes what type of License
If I need a License for IP phones would a Soft Phone (Software application) be a better option? (Get IP license and use an app on mobile/cell phone or PC)

TIA
Roger

you do need a licence for 52XX series phones, it was only the really old IP phones that didn't need licences. And you do need a licence per phone.
