Hi All,

Is there a Office2007 Removal utility I can install from a reliable site? I found a couple of links that offered a removal utility, but was hesitant downloading it. I have a computer that needs all traces of Office2007 removed and then reinstalled.

Thanks for any help

Hi zoeythecat,

Have you tried uninstalling Office via the Windows Contol Panel?

What are you trying to achieve via such a drastic process?

If you cannot find a tool you feel like trusting then the following knowledgebase article on a full manual removal may be of use:
But, as macropod hints, you probably don't really want to go this far unless you have a good reason - which presumably boils down to some support advice somewhere that full removal and reinstallation is the only way to fix some issue that you have encountered.

Macropad,
We have an outlook issue that is not going away after a simply uninstall. WE know this issue is specific to her computer, because there is no issues with her outlook on other computers.

Strongm,
Yes, I have seen this article and was planning on doing this if I could not find an office removal utility.

Thanks for your replies.

Hi zoeythecat,

In that case, the issue probably has nothing to do with Office, but with some other issue on that particular PC (eg some dodgy hardware and/or other software - including outlook add-ins and the OS).

Yeah, if it's the one PC, you might want to verify all the drivers, Office plug-ins, etc....

Another thing to consider - are all the hardware the same throughout the office? If so, then my first guess WOULD be Office plugins, perhaps some security settings?

And before just wiping the slate and starting over, have you tried a different user on the same PC, or else a new copy of that user's profile on the same PC? I know where I work, we've had numerous problems fixed by setting up a new user profile on the same PC - well, I'm not in the IT dept at my full-time job, but I've seen other's issues fixed that way, and at least once, an issue I had was fixed that way.

Sorry, I respectfully disagree with you guys. We just recently did an exchange upgrade, so I know the issue is related to Microsoft Outlook specifically. All other software and hardwdare is working great on this computer.

I'll go through the manual uninstall process and post back.

Thx for the replies

Just want to make sure you are thinking through all these things correctly.

Notice in your own statements, which do not necessarily reflect upon the situation:

So, you have a situation where it's not the user, and it's not other computers. All the setups are the same, so it's not a glaring driver related issue. It's also not in the user's log-in credentials, scripts, etc.

However, it could very well be that something somewhere went awry in her user profile (user settings) on that same machine. So if you were to just simply create her a new account (for testing at this point), let her login, and see how things go at that point). That sort of test would take very little time and effort, and if it solves the issue, then you can copy over any necessary files from the old profile to the new, log her out, log in as admin, and delete the old profile - viola! You're finished!

That is until after all that, you reboot, and the problem resurfaces? [ponder]

[bigglasses] Oh, the joys of computers!

Kvj,

Thanks for your thoughts. That is one of the tasks I plan on doing, although I did not make this my first task. I will try that first though and see if that does the trick.

Thx
