Office Xp-Word Xp

greetings I'm running winXp and office xp and i have been expiriencinig a problem in word. as i'm typing simple documents there are periods every 15min or so that the systems stop responding and then resumes. imagine that im listening to an audio cd and it completely stop and a after a few second i can start typing back into to word.
my machine id defentally not slow, 1GHz of Ram and pentium 4 1.7.

does anyone know something about it?

Are you creating and storing documents, or running Word, on a network? Could it be that the Autosave in Word is set to run every 15 minutes? That could cause a momentary pause in keyboard strokes being real-time.
Another possibility is a virus that slows down performance. One of the recent ones records your keystrokes and sends them over the internet. Check

I think that you may have Autosave enabled for 15mins or so... If only word pauses, then I would check that...
