Office XP, too early?

Hi all
Our company were forced to buy Office XP due to the new MS licence policy. Having experience from earlier versjons of this software I am scared of installing this, at least not before SP1. Am I getting paranoid or do i make sence?
Our current config i soffice 2k SP2 on win 2k machines.

If I had my choice (and I do), I would not install XP for (probably) another year...

Of course, I'm still running Windows 98, and am very happy with it.
