Hopefully I can explain this. Within an Office XP program, we'll use Excel for this example, I go to File | Open and my Open window appears. It defaults to My Documents, of which I have multiple Excel documents. If I begin to type the name of the file I want to open in the File Name field, it will finish the name for me automatically. So if I'm opening test.xls, for example, I simply type in "t" in the File Name field and it automatically finishes "text.xls" for me. Does anyone know what triggers this functionality? I have a handful of users that this will not work, but the majority of users it does.
