Office XP, Metaframe XPa, FR2, SP2 printing problems

Dear people,

I have a network with two citrix metaframe xpa fr2 sp2 server systems and a windows 2000 sp3 pdc. I use the windows 2000 sp3 PDC as my print server. So i import the printers into the citrix environment via the PDC. I installed the printer drivers on the citrix server.

Now i have the problem that often my Office xp hangs on selecting a printer. Mostly this occurs in Microsoft Word XP. The only thing i can do for my user who has this problem is to shutdown word.

Does any one has a clue about solving this problem ?

Have you verified positively that the printer driver is compatible with Terminal Services?

Could the driver be the problem ? Is it not possible that Office XP has a problem.

I have the most problems with a HP Laserjet 4050 printer. I tried the PCL5 and the PCL6 driver and mostly the PCL6 driver has the problems with hanging Office XP.

*Almost* without a doubt the driver will be the issue, not Office.

We use 4050's with the PCL 5 driver and they're fine, but we took the precaution of downloading the latest drivers onto the printer server. Users then use the web page to install printers, so they always get the correct driver.
