I am just looking for some advice as to an upgrade path, my company (350+ users)is in the midst of upgrading from office 97 (cringe) and deciding whether to jump to 2000 or XP. Does anyone have any recommendations as to why one may be beneficial over the other. We use the typical office suite (outlook, access, etc). Just looking for some ideas or even websites which contrast the differences in Price, features, licensing techniques, user opinions, etc. Thanks for any input.

ZDNet has a "special" report on XP from which I only remember something along the lines of an upgrade to XP from Office 97 being a no-brainer, whereas it wouldn't pay if you already had 2000. Something that you'll also see reflected in the latest issues of WOW ( But what are you going to run it on (hardware, OS)? And what if your company's policy is to wait for the first service pack before installing a new "major" release - can you afford to wait?
The licensing side of XP is confusing to say the least. I don't know of any comparison between 97 and XP. For XP see I do hope there will be more repsonse to this post, especially from people who have already started on an upgrade from '97 to 2000 in a 100+ user environment.
