Office modules uninstalling themselves

I am running Office Std on a Win2000 server and XP network. My problem is that on certain machines, when attempting to open an office program, an error message "This application has not been installed for the current User, please run setup". Not every machine is affected and there is no disernable pattern to it. Rebooting the PC solves the problem temporarily.
Please help!
