My workplace has recently underwent a restructering process resulting in unused computers with Microsoft office licenses.

We are now looking to buy a few new laptops & feel there is little point buying new licenses if the unused ones can be transferred to the new laptops.

Can anybody advise me on this & how to do it

Thanks in advance

It does depend on the type of licences you have; some are, theoretically transferable, some (particularly OEM ones) are not; some (most?) are usable on both a desktop and a laptop by a single user (but not at the same time). There is no 'de-activation' process and you may not be able to activate the products on the new laptops over the internet but if you explain the situation, and the licences are OK to transfer, then you should be able to activate by 'phone.

Enjoy,
Tony
