Office documents instantly attempt to recover themselves

Hi,

I'm a worring problem, when word/exel files are opened on one particular computer, office automatically closes and then attempts to recover the file. I've opened the same files on a different computer, accessed via the network, and they open no problem, even outlook does it when I attach a file!
Anyone got any ideas what's causing this?
