Hi,
my users are using roaming profiles and everytime they log on to their workstations microsoft office keeps reconfiguring itself. is there a way i can get rid of this time waster.

It would seem that the settings that office changes aren't being uploaded to the profile location, we use roaming profiles with office and this happens just the once. Are you excluding any folders from being replicated to the network at logoff?

no i haven't stopped any folders from being replicated i've just setup roaming profile the "normal" way, changing *.dat to *.man. Something to take note of is that am using office 2003 pro on windows xp service pack1

That's the problem then changing .dat to .man makes the profile mandatory and windows doesn't overwrite the profile. A roaming profile will have a .dat file and this can be updated.

So is there a way to stop microsoft office from reconfiguring itself everytime one logs in when using mandatory profile.

Both links go to the same place but if you look on the left column there in a link called 'Create a preconfigured user profile'.
