MS is releasing OCS 2007 R2 next week. Has anyone seen the beta of it? Will Mitel support it immediately?

Do we still need the Live Business Gateway for OCS 2007 R2?

How does Office Communicator 2007 R2 compare with YA 5.0?

Thanks

Ron

Q&A on the 2007R2 question from Mitel:

Q. What is Mitel doing to support OCS 2007 R2?
A. The impact of OCS 2007 in terms of 3300 ICP integration is expected to be very minimal. Mitel will wait until OCS 2007 R2 is released and then assess whether any updates to Mitel's portfolio are required.

I would expect LBG to always be there in one form or another to provide the nessage / signaling translation

YA 5 and future is very much designed to compete and integrate with OCS 2007. Very much depends on the customers needs and requirements. Mitel has a good presentation on the advantages / disadvantages of each. If you can't get it, let me know and i'll email

Thanks for the response.

With Office Communicator 2007, it doesn't have the nice pop-ups to handle call management (transfer, transfer to VM, conference, etc...) like YA. I saw this at the Costa Mesa, CA demo lab.

If OC 2007 R2 is closer to or better than YA regarding call management, I would move forward with getting LBG to get the full presence/integration.

Thanks

Your right, if the customer wants tight call control etc then YA is the way forward.

OCS is good if they want tighter inegration with Microsoft etc

While Mitel does not officially support OCS 2007 R2 at this time, has anyone made it work with the LBG and the 3300 ICP?

Thanks

Ron
