Office 365 Automatic Mail Push

I am experiencing some issues regarding the automatic push of emails from Office 365 (OWA) to my local outlook client application. Regardless of the Send/Receive Define group settings I put in place I seem to get emails instantly.

This makes no sense to me at all. How can Office 365 totally ignore the local Outlook app send/receive settings. This is killing my T-1 at work with the constant pings both up and down stream. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh my users are running Win 7 Pro and MS Office 2010 Pro as well.
