I have read a lot about the search in Office 2007 not working but a lot of it refers to people with PST files. We are running Outlook with an Exchange server and most employees dont have PST files. We do not run Exchange in cached mode.

I have a user who is having problems searching for this exact text OR00993731 which is in the Subject line and in the body of the email. I had her send me the email and it does not work on mine or another users computer. The original email was generated from our ERP system but I also emailed myself and email and typed in OR00993731 manually and put it in the body of the email as well and I still couldnt search for it, but its right there in my inbox.

I have not had any other issues searching for items in the past, and I can find other stuff.

Any Ideas?

Just to be exactly clear the original email has in the subject:

FW: OR00993731 Safeway Clackamas rejection

and the ones that I sent myself have just

OR00993731

in the subject. I can search for Safeway and it finds it, I can search for FW: and it finds it, but the main information that differentiates between order numbers it will not find.
