Office 2007 removal using add/remove fails

I can't remove the Office 2007 from a new Acer laptop - the error message I get says that that the language is not installed ... Setup Error message box says "the language of this installation package is not supported by your system".

Actually I don't care what language it is removed with, I just want to put Office 2003 onto a clean slate.
 
Thanks for that .. yes I suppose you could take a deep breath and follow those SIMPLE few steps .. but I found you can also use Revo Uninstaller to do the job - it is free and did seem to work.

I ran Revo in the safe level, and then had to manually delete the start menu shortcuts. The only residual problem, not sure if related to all this butchery, was a mapi32.dll error on starting Outlook 2003. I needed this link to solve that problem.
 
You might try using the next time unlocker, it's a free download available at:


It works excellent for those stubborn files that refuse to be deleted.
