What in the world is going on with Office 2007. I'm getting to know it (what a learning curve) and also working with Access.. I use the help file OFTEN... but it opens to a blank screen and an XML document open in my notepad program (Note Tab). If I select the option to show the subjects I get a split screen with the links on the left but when I click, the data opens up an XML doc in the text program.

Now is this a problem with my pop-up window settings? Or is it some sort of block from my Virus Protection software or is it a problem with the Office installation?

I ran the Diagnosis utility from Word and I also did a Repair with the disc in the drive but nothing helped.

HELP!!!

M'lady,

Will you please post first 10 lines of the doc that pops up? Or at least upto the first instance of <breadcrumbs>? Spasiba.

Hi, Laurie

It sounds like your file association for XML files has been changed to open with Notepad rather than Internet Explorer.

Check it in Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/file type tab. Try changing it to Internet Explorer if it is indeed set to Notepad.

Oh Jock, that sounds like you might have put your finger on it. Unfortunately I cannot check that until I get home tonight.... but for my buddy, XLHelp, here are the first few lines from both Word and Access xml files that open...

Hi, Laurie. The XML list looks good. So, I guess your friend Jock has the solution. Basically I was looking for this:
Documents and Settings\LaurieK_HP\Local Settings
and it looks good.
