I've got Office 2003 installed and a server with SharePoint 2003 on it. When I try to publish my list I get the following error in Microsoft Excel 2003:

Client Components for Windows SharePoint Services are not available or are not the correct version. You will not be able to edit lists connected to a SharePoint site.

I have it so that I can see my SharePoint site and I did check to see if the services were installed via Office (they are). Why can I not do this?

You say Office 2003 is installed on the server, but are you trying to access the site from the server, or are you trying to access it from another workstation? If you are accessing the server from another workstation (via your network, or the internet or whatever), then you will need to have Office 2003 installed on that machine. In fact, there really is not any reason you should have the Office 2003 software installed on the server itself, unless that is the only machine you are using (which is fine in a testing environment, but bad if you are connected to the internet). Anyways.....hope any of that helped.
