Hi,
We're using Sharepoint Services 3 on a Windows 2003 Server. Most users are using Office 2003 Pro with the Office 2007 Document compatibility pack, with a few (including me) on Office 2007 Pro. My problem is this:
I and a few other users, both on Office 2003 and 2007 are having trouble saving Word/Excel documents to our Sharepoint site. We can open the documents and modify them OK but when it comes to save the following messages can appear:
"The Web Server is busy. Please try again later"
"The Internet Address Http://[address of library] is not valid"
or using the Save As dialogue:
"Documents in this folder are not available. The folder may have been moved or deleted, or network problems may be preventing a connection to the server. The URL is not valid. Please check your typing."
I've tried the Check In/Out functionality which results in the same messages.
Bizarrely, after the messages have appeared in Office, if I subsequently try to open the Intranet (via IE6), I get a "Cannot find server" page until I log out and back in again.
I'm sure this is an issue with Office/Sharepoint integration and not the Sharepoint server itself as only a few users are experiencing the issue and also the server has been rebuilt from scratch due to a software corruption and the problem has remained.
Can anyone offer any insight as I've been trying to rectify this problem for over a month. The steps that I've already taken include:
* Uninstalling/Reinstalling Office 2007/2003 on the affected machines
* Running Office Diagnostics on the affected 2007 machines and Detect and Repair on the 2003 machines
* Uninstalling the Sharepoint elements within Office 2007/2003
I await your replies!
