I am not that familiar with Mac, so please bare with me. I have a problem with Excel on an Mac X system.

The forumula bar has dissapeared and my client, who is a MAC user, does not know how to get it back again.

I tried to explain that you would usually just right click on the navigation bar at the top and select the formula bar (Called formula auditing on Microsoft Office), but this is apparently not possible with his Mac.

Any ideas on how to locate the formula bar and to get it to show again?

Some more info on the problem.

He has apparently gone to VIEW where you can select/deselect the various bars. The formula bar is selected but is nowhere to be seen at the top. Perhaps it has hidden itself behind one of the panes?

Quit Excel. Go to User/Library/Preferences/Microsoft. Trash Everything that says Excel. Also in the User/Library/Preferences trash "com Microsoft Excel.plist".

Launch Excel and go to View menu to set toolbars. THe mac will automaticall create new Prefernces files.

Sometimes Excel, and Word, has a tendency to cover one thing with another. Its's not that hard to fix as long as your familiar with it. In the absence of that, trashing prefs usually clears things up
