Good Afternoon. Installed Office 2000 to an Administrative Installation point on a Netware 5 server. All service packs applied. All desktops are NT4.0 SP6 using the Netware Client 4.8. The Issue: Launch the Shortcut bar from an Icon pointing to MSOFFICE.EXE on the Netware 5.1 Server. When you go into the ShortCut bar, select customize, then the Toolbar tab, then add toolbar and then select "Make Toolbar for this folder". This is where the issue begins. If I create a shortcut to the C:\ drive, I have to Issue. I always appears when I launch the Shortcut bar. BUT, if I point to the Netware 5.1 server and create a shortcut bar there, it will be there as long as the Shortcut bar is loaded. As soon as I close it and then open it again, the shortcut to the server is gone. I found out that in the registry, it writes the shortcut to the netware server using UNC format. Not a drive letter. If I manually change the UNC to the drive letter, the shortcut comes back. The installation of Office 2000 was done using a drive letter. Not UNC. SO I am confused why Office 2000 is using UNC instead of the Drive Letter I used when I created the shortcut in the first place? This happens for all 4800 users. Hope you guys have an answer. I cant seem to find one. Thank you.
