office 2000 problem

I store word documents to a drive on my Metaframe 1.8 terminal server. I can open them up locally with word 97 running locally with no problem. When I try to open them up with word 2000 I get an error "this application requires the windows installer". I know of compatibility scripts when office 2000 is on the TS itself . Do I need them using
word locally? Doesn't make sense.

I believe your problem is to do with the coexistence of Ofice 97 and Office 200. Refer M$ KB articles on this one but you may have to reinstall Office 2000 as an upgrade to your 97 install or uninstall 97 first. Post in the Office forum and you will probably get a more detailed answer.

Sorry, just so I understand fully... Is Office 2000 installed as a local client app, and Office 97 installed as a published application (or components thereof) Steve Marshall
