I am looking for a working string to setup Off-premise message notification to a SkyTel pager. The pager is reached using a common 1-800 number and identifier with a PIN#. I tried using pauses to send the pin down the line but it doesn't seem to work. I tried strings like:

9 D 18007598888 PP 123123# PP

So I hit 9 and wait for dial-tone, than dial the 1-800-759-8888 for skytel's after which I pause for 8 seconds and send the PIN followed by the # as instructed.

After the PIN and the last pause, the system should key in whatever the <SHOW> value was set to correct?

I tried various combinations of pauses and # to no avail.

Could there be anything else in the system preventing Off-premise message notif.

Thanks.

I finally got it working with a simpler (shorter) string. I think my old one may have been above the 28 digit limit. Now I use:

8D1800759888123123#P

And it works like a charm. Thanks.

I have programmed this several times and have found by adding a second # at the end of the string sends the message. For example, 1-800-759-8888PPP(pin)##.
