Either get Centrex service from your phone company, and use a Flash button to transfer to an outside number, or, set up an extension with Remote Call Forwarding, and transfer the call to that specific extension.
One additional option that comes from the Centrex department is: Pacific Bell/AT&T in California offers a feature called CALL TRANSFER DISCONNECT, that is available on a per line basis to business class of service. It is the same as the Centrex DID-to-DOD Call Transfer feature, but without the Centrex cost part. Some CLECs may offer it also, so you may want to ask them.
