Hi,

I have been given a stange request from a customer, in that if a handset rings, they do not want to answer the call simply by lifting the handset, or going off hook. What they would like is if the handset rings as a result of a direct call or hunt group call, then they have to press a key to answer, after they've lifted the handset.

Is this possible?

Thanks

programme the key as a multicall with the DN of the hunt group DN or line DN.

Thanks wireman, I can't do that as the users make busy during the day, and the multicall ignores the make busy settings for the extension. I should have stated that previously, sorry.

system type?

Software Level?

Most Mitel Systems - turn off the cos option Ringing Line Select

There's also usually a COS option for Multicall Automatic Line Select for the prime line.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

If a 3300 not sure it can be done on the prime line. There is a COS feature that allows you to answer a ringing key appearance by going off hook. Shutting that off would work but then you would have to direct calls to a secondary line and that makes handling the Voicemail a little tougher.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
