How can I tell in my Legend how many #'s are being passed from my CO for DID routing? I am using a PRI.

Thanks.

You can't. You can, however, infer that 3 or 4 digits are passed based on working DID numbers. For instance, if someone has an extension of 432, and their DID is 555-1432, then it passes 3 digits. If their extension is 1432, it would be passing 4. On a PRI, it is possible to manipulate the digits somewhat, and add or delete digits according to a desired scheme. TipHelp@charter.net

You can do a print out of your PRI info; under the Dial Plan Routing you should see the number of digits you are currently expecting.

Only with analog or one way DID trunks can you add and strip digits for DID. Anytime you use a T-1 and have two-way DID trunks, or you use a PRI, your extensions must match the actual numbers being sent, as the previous posts stated. Your service provider can adjust the number of digits being sent based on your needs.

Not really. On a PRI, not T-1, digits can be stripped. TipHelp@charter.net

Pepperz is right on the PRI digits. I was still in a T-1 state of mind. Good thing someone is paying attention. Is it Friday yet???
