OE6 Inbox intermitantly emptied (lost)?!?

Greetings,
I've been having this problem on and off for a month or so, my OE6 inbox gets periodically emptied (all emails lost). I've tried unistalling IE6 and re-installing it, but it still occurs. I've ran the latest McAfee virus scan on it and nothing was detected.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Just to clarify...
my "sent" folder also gets emptied. It seems like some of the index/database files for the OE6 are getting corrupted. The fact that it happens repeatedly (but randomly) seems to indicate a virus to me.

Also, I am running win2k on the machine in question.

HI.

The DBX corruption is probably CAUSED by the MCAffee anti virus, and is a known problem.
Search this and related forums and the MCAffee web site, you'll find more info about it.

The solution is to update to latest AV engine (program), and to exclude the OE store folder or DBX extensions from the AV real time scanner.
