Hello,
I have noticed my outlook express (v5.5) a bit sluggish over the last few days. Now when i go to create a new mail, i get an error message saying MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module MSOE.DLL I have gone to the microsoft support site and have tried all their 'resolutions' (including renaming & removing read only from folders.dbx). I have reinstalled outlook express a few times, and am having problems removing internet explorer 5 as there is no previous version to roll back to. I am running win 95. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ciao.

Thanks for that link - will try that this afternoon. Do you know whether OE somehow tags itself to your user profile over a network? Whenever i log in as a particular user (with the problem) the problem duplicates itself. But when i log on as another user, Outlook Express behaves like it should.. grrrr...

I'm not aware it does, I think it is probably down to local configuration, do you have multiple users set up on the workstation? There is a way of enabling roaming profiles with W98 on an NT network which copies the registry files to the home directory, maybe this has been done? Look for large dat files in users home directories.

It's probably not the most reliable way round, but i copied an existing msoe.dll file from a good working computer and pasted into the relevant directory on the problem PC. After a reboot, everything seemed to be fine - however, i'm sure this would cause problems. Is it normally OK to copy .dll files into directories without actually doing the install??

Depends whether they have already been registered by the system, most are self registering, so if an initial install has gone OK, then you may get away with it. The main caveat is if it is exactly the same version, this can be found out by right-clicking and checking the properties. It's not the most certain way of doing things, but if it works, it will save a lot of grief!
