OE prompt for UN/PW won't go away...

I'm not sure if this is proper, but I work for an ISP... I just have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for. I have recieved about 30 calls in the last 2 days where OE continues prompting for the username/password, even after it is entered correctly. The prompt will not go away. It has also been ticked to remember this info during the setup. Users can see inbox in the background. They say all was fine and then it just started doing this. I can find no commonality except that they are all using OE. They all have different OS's, versions of OE and anti-virus or firewall combos...the only thing I could find on MS site was-
