A customer had a situation yesterday when they were sent a huge number of huge emails. For some reason these would not download and so blocked things they really wanted to see.
What they want is two email adressess, one for 'company' stuff and one for the general public. They actually have that currently, but both are downloaded at the same time.
If they had two identities, can they just send/receive for the accounts for the current identity? Peter Meachem

Don't know what email client you are using , try typing identities in your client help .

Outlook Express. Help doesn't say exactly what happens. Peter Meachem

Maybe leaving on the server may be the way , as per this out of help . ( typed multi )

To store messages on a mail server
Storing messages on a server is useful if you need to read mail from more than one computer. When you log on to your account from a different computer, Outlook Express downloads messages according to the options you have set. You can store messages on a POP3 server. If you have HTTP mail, such as Hotmail, or IMAP mail, your messages are always kept on the server.

On the Tools menu, click Accounts.

Click the mail account, and then click Properties.

Click the Advanced tab, and then select Leave a copy of messages on server.

Another way is to have another email client , set up to handle the general public only . Probably can be done with OE , if the above dos'nt suit , but cannot think of how .

Here is a list of free email clients .
