People of the Forums,
I am running win98se english and I need to write japanese emails with outlook express. Perviously using OE 5.0 and global IME 5.02 everything was fine. I now have reinstalled 98se and then put on IE5.5, then IME 5.02, but now when attempting to write japanese characters the global IME does not display the choice of characters available in the "candidate window" as described by Microsoft. Instead you get just blanks. I checked and re installed Global IME and ensured that the MS Gothic font that controls the japanese characters was in place. Encoding on the page has to be force set to japanese (JIS) to view any japanese characters at all. If not there is no display of the characters but the dotted underline affect appears where the text would be.
I hope someone can shed some light or point to another forum that could help
Cheers
