Hi
I'm really new to all of this, I normally just program so if this question could be silly. So right now the server I'm working from is running access 97. I really want the system to be upgraded to 2000. However, the person running the server says it can't be upgraded unless we can find a way to have both drivers (Access97 and Access2000) for use by ODBC at the same time, since other programs using the server aren't ready to upgrade. Is this possible? any ideas?
Thanks

The person running the server doesn't know what he's talking about. All you have to do is make sure all your Access 97 databases are upgraded to 2000, then MDAC takes care of the rest. I run Access 03, and I can set ODBC connections to 97, 2000, and 2003 when I want to.

OK...so then how do i change the drivers used by ODBC ?

I get the following error msg when trying to connect...

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access 97 Driver] Can't open database '(unknown)'. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

The db is in Access 2000....I'm assuming that my problem is ODBC is not using the correct drivers...if this is correct, then how do I change to the correct drivers, and where do I get them ???

What code/application are you using when you get those errors? Show us your code!
