On one workstation that I use the Recently Used files shows when I use the Command Window.

Type:
MODI COMM <previous used files pops up>

On another workstation running the same version of VFP7, despite having the following in my Registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
SOFTWARE
MICROSOFT
VISUAL FOXPRO
7.0
OPTIONS
RecentlyUsedFiles = 6

Nothing pops up in my Command Window when I begin to type
MODI COMM <nothing pops up>

And when I go into my VFP Tools | Options | View
the "Most Recently Used List contains" shows the 6, but it is grayed out and changing other check marks on the View tab page won't Enable it.

Just to check, I went to MS Word on the offending workstation and it properly displayed the most recently used files in its File menu drop-down.

Any ideas/suggestions where to go to change this for this workstation?

Thanks,
JRB-Bldr

Hi JRB-Bldr,

Sorry if this is stating the obvious, but is your Intellisense enabled?

Go to Tools / Intellisense Manager, and make sure that both options under "Enable Intellisense" are set to Automatic.

Or, in the command window, type MODI COMM, then hit Ctrl+I. If this brings up the MRU list, then change the above settings from Manual to Automatic.

One other possibility: Are you sure you have actually used some files on that workstation?

Mike

Mike - thanks for the reply.

Yes, I confirmed that the Enable Intellisense is checked and the other 2 options:
List Members = Automatic
Quick Info Tips = Automatic

Actually when typing in a VFP command into the Command Window, the Intellisense does indeed popup the pseudo 'help' window (Quick Info Tips?). So Intellisense seems to be working, just not MRU popups.

After typing MODI COMM in the Command Window and hitting Ctrl+I, nothing happens - no MRU list is brought up and no settings are made available to change.

Yes, I have modified PRG, FRX, DBF etc. files on this workstation and would expect them to appear in the MRU popup.

Thanks,

Thanks Mike.

I too hope someone else has some ideas.

Thanks,

JRB-Bldr,

Just been digging around a little. It looks like the list of files in stored in the Resource File, in a record whose ID is MRUB.

It might be worth checking that you have go SET RESOURCE on, that the file is accessible, and that the record in question has its ReadOnly field set to .F.
