I have two ERS-5520 switches connected through MLT trunk on ports 47,48. Left them running over-night and in the morning I've noticed that the second switch is just hanging with a message on the screen:

Initializing........
Broadcom Command Monitor: Copyright (c) 1998-2005 Broadcom Corporation

Can't ping it from the base nor telnet to it

Any thoughts on this one????

What version of software and diags are you running?

Do you have spanning tree turned off on the ports?

You certainly won't be able to ping the switch because it doesn't appear to be completely booting up.

Assuming it's not a hardware problem, which it most certainly could be, you could try factory resetting the switch (if it even boots up that far);

Good Luck!

Thanks curtismo for your response

I'm using software v5.1.1.016 and diag 5.0.0.4
spanning tree is disable on trunk ports (47,48)

I've also noticed that all the port lights at front were lighted-up
