Hi,
systemInfo said:
BOEXI R2 SP2
Windows 2003 Server IIS 6

When we add a Bar Code Printer driver ( the Intermec EasyCoder 3400D] on this system, ALL reports that use the ActiveX viewer ( in InfoView and from the CMC Preview) have their page layout set to the BarCode settings (3" by 1") not the Default printer ( Laserjet 8100 PS series) - If we use the CMC and, under the printer setup options, select 'Custom' for the layout ( but do not enter any values) it correctly displays the report...

If we remove the BarCode printer from the server and restart the services, the reports work as expected..
The BarCode printer is NOT the default printer on that server..

This behavior does not occur with BOEXI R2 SP1 ( MHF1 and CHF16) ..Is this a known issue with SP2?

Hi,
A little more info..

This behavior is only when viewed with the ActiveX viewer..The DHTML one works as expected..

What happens if you add a new report after the driver is installed?

Does it pick-up the barcode printer or the default printer?

Hi,
Any report added after the BarCode driver is installed picks up the odd BarCode layout..
(No matter if we use the Publishing Wizard, 'Save As' from Designer, or 'Add Object' in CMC - same result)

Did you just apply SP2 or fix-pack 2.2 also...?

Did it update the version of the ActiveX viewer...?

What happens if you view the SAME instance from HISTORY using the two different viewers DHTML and ACTIVE-X on the same PC...?

Hi,
No, we have not added the fix-pack yet ( the ReadMe did not seem to indicate that this was an issue that was addressed....)

As far as we can tell, SP2 did not update the ActiveX component, since users were not prompted to install a newer version ( which, in the past, has always been the case when the viewer was updated..)

Hi,
Thanks..
We currently have no historical instances - all have been run as View-On-Demand reports, not scheduled ones..

We will test that method out, but, given that the DHTML viewer works with no issues, I expect the same problem with history-based instances..
