ODBC Visual Foxpro

I am new to Visual FoxPro. I use VF6 and I have a table (.dbf), not database (.dbc). I tried to do a simple select statement using ASP, but it didn't work. Somehow when I tried to connect via ODBC, it doesn't support (.dbf) file. Is it possible to use ODBC with .dbf? Or I have to use SQL server?
