I have some FileMaker Pro files in a folder on my desktop. What I want to do is import this data into a SQL Server database. When I try to create a User DSN for the FMP data, it's not working (well, I shouldn't say that it's not working, i should say that I don't know what I'm doing as I've never worked w/ FileMaker)

Anyway, I've tried going thru Admin...ODBC Data Source Admin. Selecting User DSN - select the FileMaker Pro driver and this is where i lose it. It askes me for a Data Source Name - my FileMaker Pro file is on my desktop, it's not asking for the location and I can't type the path to it as it's too long. So, how am I supposed to get to the source? I've tried just typing in the file name and this does nothing.

I've also tried this using the SQL Server 7 Enterprise manager -- select my db, choose import data, add a new dsn and the same thing. I'm asked to create a new DSN and then I can't figure out how to specify the data source. If I put in the filename here and then try to create a SQL statement to query the table, I get an error stating that the table can't be opened. I tried opening the filemaker stuff and then trying this, but I get the same error.

I can see what's happening -- the data source is not being located - but how do I fix this????

Anyone out there have a clue? This is just not computing for me and I can not find any documentation that clears this up.

Thanks in advance for your help.
