ODBC Trace suppress - HELP!!!!! URGENT

Im trying to suppress the sql.log file that odbc tracing creates. I want to do this via my application which is in VC++ 5.0. Ive gone through the ODBC API bible and there seems to be nothing that can do this. Is there some way of disabling the tracing in the beginning of the program and enabling it at the end?
