I was wondering if anyone is useing the ODBC connection and if so how are they using it. At my company they want to open up the stream and do "reports". Well since we alreay have software that does that i believe that its called cms supervisor, i just dont know what else they would be able to do with the data. If anyone else can tell me how they are using the connection that would be great.

Thanks.

CMS Supervisor is useful as far as it goes. There are many reporting tools that allow more flexibility in data organization/presentation. These access the CMS data via ODBC.

It does not change what you have and I still use Supervisor for many reports that different managers/teams require. That said, Crystal Reports lets me format and aggregate more effectively so that is where our exec rollups live.

We use the CMS ODBC drivers to amalgamate data that would otherwise be difficult to obtain from standard reports.
For example, a split/skill summary interval report but for several skills combined does not exist.
Also we like to import the data and combine the dictionary definitions to the imported table as items get recycled, especially agent logins. Today agent 4123 is John but next week he leaves and the code 4123 is reused for Jane . If I run reports it will show Jane took calls when she wasn't even working for us yet. So we rely on the exported data instead for this type of validation.
