Hello, I know this has been brought up here before but I havent been able to resolve with what is out there. my senario is this: 40 users 1 terminal server on win2k adv server. I have an app that needs 6 odbc connections mannually configured. I can do this several ways
1. log on as every user and configure
2. signed on as admin goto cmd and do a change user /install
then load them this puts all odbc connections in the system tab of odbc connections but this app seems to want them in the users tab / dir.
Any ideas on how to keep me from signing in 40 times to set these users up?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have a few apps which use ODBC, none however require 6 ODBC connections, not that I think it would matter. So, can't you just setup a SYSTEM DSN? These shouls be available to anyone who connects to the system. Or are these connections specific to each user?

Interesting enough the connections are user connections however all connections are the same (no user has a unique connection). When I load the connection as system the app tries to 'build' a user odbc connection but fails with the apps server defined variables. I'm stumped on this one and may have to just log in 40 times :(

You could try this.....I don't think it would hurt and is easy to undo. Locate the ODBC.INI file in the WTSRV folder (terminal server install folder). Copy this to the DEFAULT USER profile in the windows folder. Next locate ODBC.CTX and ODBCINST.CTX in one of the user's profiles which has already been configured. (I am using Citrix not TS, so the file names may be slightly different). Copy these files into the WINDOWS folder of the DEFAULT USER profile as well. Then delete someone'e profile and have them login.

Let me know.
