Hi. Im using CR 8.5 on win2k, and CE 8.0 on win2k server.

All of a sudden all my odbcs in CR cannot see any tables.

My existing reports still work in CR, and on the web, However, I Cannot "set location" for any new reports, or change the table being used in existing reports.

I have odbcs that connect to .xls files on the server,
and I also have odbcs that connect to a mysql server.
This is happening on all client machines, with any report.

Both worked yesterday, none work today.

What I've done:

rebooted clients.
restarted CE services.
rebooted win2k server.
created new odbcs.
created new odbcs to map to different locations on server.
My odbcs file locations on the clients and server match.
remapped drives on the clients.

No changes were made to CR on the client machines since yesterday.
When I test my mysql odbcs within windows, I CAN connect succesfully.

Anyone who can help me with this one will be considered a GOD.
Any ideas?

Question: Within DATABASE > Set location > OPTIONS:

Does anyone know what the "Table name LIKE:" box
and the Owner LIKE: box should read?

Currently mine have weird characters like this: ]
?

I do not have an "options" under database, set location. I also am using crystal 8.5 and a Win 2000 server. Are you doing this within DR or within CE?

Also, what is your database? I am using a SQL Server 2000 database.

Halfcan,

Those textboxes should be empty unless you want to restrict the list of tables available to you within Crystal.

If you only wanted the tables that begin with "C", then you'd type "C*" in the LIKE textbox. In your case, if you happened to have a table named "?]", it would show up.

Just clear it out, and you should see everything.

How'd it get in there is the head-scratcher.

VIDRU - you are the man.
I removed the weird characters and it works!

However, I have no idea how they put in there.

Thanks alot,
HC

Vidru,

How is this available? I don't even have that option.

Many thanks in advance.

Don,

It's the same thing you see if you go to File>Options>Database tab.
