Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this.

My company has used ODBC DSN connections for years so creating/editing a connection is not a problem. We now have an environment in which the server list does not populate. Here are the steps: Open ODBC and click add. Select SQL Server then next. If we click the drop down box for servers, the list is completely blank. A VB6 program which has ODBC features also cannot populate a server list. We can still type in the server box and using 'local' does work however a full list does not appear.

Any suggestions on why the server list does not populate?

Are the sql servers named instances? and do you have the sql server browser service running?

Thanks for the responses.
I will examine items based on your comments and try to provide more information.
