I am struggling to connect via enterprise manager to an SQL 2000 server through the internet.
I am making a vpn connection, entering the ip of the server, user name & password and getting authentication errors. I ahve treble checked this info.
However if I go to ODBC data source administrator, system dsn on my PC I can connect & successfully test data source using the identical information.
Im sure the SQL is using the default 1433 port and this is open on the firewall etc.
Will ODBC be using 1433. If not what port will it be using and can I get SQL to use the same port.
Thanks
