ODBC not working

I have a server that we connect to that uses a Transoft U/SQL driver (it is a sco unix box). the driver works to link tables from access, but on one computer (win 2000) it will not link tables in access but it will work from excel. has anyone had a problem like this? what should i try? it won't even come up with the password and login screen.
